During 1925, the Football Association in England gave the
Dominion of Canada Football Association a new trophy to replace
the Connaught Cup. It became known as the Football Association
Trophy and was first awarded in 1926. For a while after that,
the Connaught Cup was awarded to the eastern champions, but at
some point in time was stolen and is thought to have been melted
down.
